Lost Boys actor, Cory Haim has died of a ‘suspected drug overdose,’ aged 38.
The 80s film star was taken to Providence St Joseph Medical Centre where he died in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Although the cause of death is still unconfirmed, it is already being speculated that Haim’s unexpected demise is related to a long term battle with prescription drugs.
Haim is best known for his charismatic turn in cult, vampire classic, The Lost Boys, but his subsequent career was forever in decline as he struggled to regain the limelight.
In recent years, Haim had starred in reality TV show, The Two Coreys, with friend and Lost Boys co-star, Corey Feldman.
The show, which was canceled after only two years, is best remembered for it’s confrontations and Haim’s teary breakdown upon learning that there was no role for him alongside Feldman in Lost Boys sequel, The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe (2008).
However, in spite of the controversy that surrounded parts of his life, fans will want to fondly remember him as the cheeky, scene-stealing teen, Sam, in Joel Schumacher’s, The Lost Boys.
He currently has three films awaiting release.
